BioLog

From field entry to an open biodiversity database.

BioLog is the platform where authorities, NGOs, companies and research teams record field observations and conservation actions, review them scientifically, and turn them into usable open ecological data. Mobile, offline-capable and multilingual.

Access by invitation only: you receive an account through your organization or an approved request.

How BioLog works

From field entry to verified record in three steps.

01 · Capture

Document in the field

Species, location, time, media and field notes, mobile and offline-capable. Sync happens automatically once you are back online.

02 · Review

Moderate with expertise

Moderators and experts check every submission against the taxonomy and approve it, traceable and versioned.

03 · Discover

Search & export

Approved activities as a list and on the swisstopo map. Filter, analyse and export for reports or GBIF.

For professional nature observation

One platform, multiple workspaces.

BioLog is multi-tenant: each organization works in its own protected tenant with its own roles, forms and exports, on a shared, scientifically grounded taxonomy.

  • Cantons official amphibian and species monitoring
  • NGOs & associations volunteer mapping and conservation projects
  • Research reproducible field data with version history
